INFOGRAPHIC

Objective

Created an effective and innovative visual design for personally gathered data.

Solution

To effectively include the date, time, quantity, and type into infographic, clock and graphic element was combined to create a unique visual system. A pie chart for general information was placed at the top to work as an eye-catcher and thesis.

The biggest challenge for this piece was the nature of the data it had to represent. Typical infographics only use two or three variables, but in this case, the time, amount, and type of food consumed by date had to be shown. To capture as many variables as possible, a graph in the form of a round mesh was devised. The above work is the first draft of that idea. However, despite these efforts, the graph could only represent up to three variables. After going through creative thinking process, the infographic was completed by arranging the graphs by date through a grid arrangement similar to a calendar and placing the main graph at the top to see the pattern of 14 days of data at a glance.
